This email is to report my thoughts on 2 more products from Linday Sy -
Acne Oil Control Gel and Acne Cover Lotion. I have had these products
longer than the rest of the group because they were all posted together.

For completeness, here are my 2 previous reports. The first was about the
superfatted soap and Moisturizing Oil for Face and Body that contains
safflower and jojoba oil.

The second email was after using the sunscreen and moisturiser.

Rosacea Highlights: LindaSy's Proj #2 (Dr. Sy's followup to my post)

I have been using the Acne Oil Control Gel and the Acne Cover Lotion for
more than 2 weeks now. I love them both and am very happy with what they
are doing for my nose.

Acne Oil Control Gel.

This is 2% Salicylic Acid in an 86.5% SD Alcohol 40B base. Dr. Sy has
posted in the message above her ideas on the alcohol component of the gel.
It is applied at night after washing with her superfatted soap, a couple of
drops of the oil on a wet face, followed by some `Moisturizer for Dry
Skin'. It is quite volatile and you can feel the alcohol evapourating
quickly. Even to the point of sometimes needing to close your eyes. I guess
after the soap, oil and moisturiser the gel isn't harsh. The skin looks
flat and smooth afterwards, if not a little pinkish/red. The real results
are the next morning when you can see that the pustules (white pussy lumps)
and papules (red lumps) are going done or gone. I reckon that the Acne Oil
Control Gel is really helping me win the fight against papules and
pustules. I am not use the disks at the moment, and the Gel seems just as,
if not more effective against the acne parts of my problem. Each morning
there are less and less of them overall. It isn't making them all go away
all the time but I'd say I'm winning.

The alcohol content doesn't seem to be an issue for me. I would have never
thought of using an oil for my skin, so hey alcohol from the same author is
not a problem ! Plus we have seen that there are many types of chemicals
that are called alcohol.

Acne Cover Lotion:

Ingredients: Purified Water, SD Alcohol 23A, Montmorillonite Clay, Titanium
Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Glycerin, Sulfur, Sodium Chloride, Iron Oxides, Talc,
Zinc Sulfate.

This lotion is applied in the morning after the soap, oil and sunscreen. It
is skin toned and covers the ruddiness of the skin. After trying a bit I
worked out that you need to apply the exact amount say to cover my nose
very quickly and evenly as it dries in just 1 or 2 seconds. The
instructions say to dot a second time on blemishes - well when I started
that was most of my nose ! I probably applied too much for a while which
wasn't such a bad thing because it helped change the colour of my nose. Now
I can apply a much smaller amount because my nose is not so red.

The change is dramatic. For the first time in years I have a normal
coloured nose. People's reactions are always interesting and not always
what you expect. The first time my mum saw me with the cover lotion on she
shreaked "David what you done to your face ?". Not your nose looks great or
anything like that ! She was shocked, I guess, to see me with a nose the
same colour as my cheeks. I had to stare a few times myself to see who that
dude was in the mirror. The increase in confidence had been really great, I
can just relax about how I feel. If only for this it would be worth trying
this product. And as a bonus it seems to be helping the skin underneath as
well.

In the beginning it was kinda sad to remove the cover lotion in the evening
(it is quite sticky so lasts ages) and see what the skin is like
underneath. It would be the same old ruddy colour - and maybe even more
shocking than normal because you see your skin go from a natural tone to
red in a short time. Lately, though the colour underneath has been much
less pronounced.

I'm beginning to understand that there is many many levels of skin stress,
such that there is a long way to go from really swollen pussy dark red to
normal skin. Along the way there are lots of levels of pink, degrees of
pustules and papules, pore health, deep tissue colour etc. Since trying
Linda Sy's products my nose has made several steps along this path -
yeehagh !

I can't think of any down sides to all 7 products I have tried. Thanks very
much for letting me try your products, Dr. Sy, I'm converted !
