Hello Dawn,

I am not ignoring your post -- I just need some time to organize my thoughts
and type them out. I should post something about ocular symptoms and treatment
early next week.

About the retin-A -- how can I say this so that it does not come across too
aggressively............ well here goes..................

It is strongly recommended that rosacea sufferers:

First and foremost -- do nothing to irritate their skin.

This is the exact nature of retin-A.

I know that it does a wonderful job on the bumps, but I strongly recommend that
we find something else that works as well on the bumps without the potential
side effects of irritation and increased blood vessel growth.

so clearly stated! Now that I've sucked up a little perhaps you can help me
with my eyes. Although I can keep my skin fairly well under control most times,
my eyes are getting steadily worse. My doxycycline doesn't seem to effect them
much. I'm trying to identify triggers and I'm using some eye cleansing pads that
seem to help a good deal---I gently scrub the eyelid margins every morning with
the little sudsy gauze pad and that keeps the bumps off the lid margins for the
most part. My right eye is so bad that during a flare the skin under it gets
raw and scaly. My eyes are always runny & bloodshot, my lashes (once long and
pretty) are stubby, sparse, and come out before they're fully grown. So far I've
figured out that heat--sitting too near a heater--is a major trigger for my
eyes.

SO MUCH. I've used it off and on for ten years. Do you feel there is enough risk
of it causing or worsening the little red vessles in my cheeks that I should
give it up?
