Subject: [rosacea] Men - Electric Razors
Strictly for the men:
It is recommended that men with rosacea should shave with an electric
razor -- especially if you notice small papules, pustules or irritation in
the beard or mustache areas of the face.
The electric razor significantly reduces the risk of irritation and 'cuts'
to the facial skin. This may help decrease subsequent formation of small
red inflammatory bumps. In addition, you do not need to use shaving cream
or gel which may also be a possible source for irritation.
Personally, I now love my electric razor. Furthermore, everyone that I
have recommended this to (probably around 50-60 men)have noticed
significant improvement in their skin after about a month of daily use.
I have tried them all -- I love the Panasonic Wet/Dry razor. I like the
Wet/Dry razor because one can wash his razor after each use. This helps to
remove the accumulation of medicine and minerals from the razor portion.
In addition, if one wants a close shave, he can do it in the shower with
running water. I have a thick beard and was skeptical about the electric
razor. But I get a very close shave -- without irritation.
I need to caution you -- It will take about 10-14 days for your skin to
get use to this change. So be gentle and hang in there.
Just my two cents,
Geoffrey
