Hi Group,

Many procedures performed with photoderm (or lasers) are considered
cosmetic and are not covered by insurance. However, if you are
experiencing chronic pain and burning from the underlying inflamation,
then you might have a chance to get it covered (at least partially). The
secret is to take pictures of yourself when you are at your worst
(sometimes helps to induce your worse flush and take several close up
pictures under the brightest lights). These pictures, accompanied with a
letter from your primary care physician may help!

It is worth a shot. In my experience, with this approach, most have a
30-40% shot of getting at least partial coverage. But many factors are
involved -- with the most important being your insurance coverer.
