Hi Michael,
First, about photoderm and the nose. As far as the treatment numbers, probably
not as many.....but that is just speculation. The pulsed dye got the job
started. Some people who were minimally reponsive to pulsed dye, have noticed
significant improvemen t in their symptoms with photoderm. The nose is always
the hardest to treat. Each time you get treated the vascular specialist should
see how you have responded and adjust the energy and wavelngth accordingly.
I have been in close contact with Dr. Patrick Bitter who is probably one of
the top three photoderm specialists as far as experience and success. If you
want, you can copy the email that Patrick sent me concerning the difficult
treatment of the nose. You may want to show it to your physician and get his
advice.

Dear Geoffrey,
It takes at least 5 full-face treatments to get greater clearing of the
erythema. The treatments need to be at 3-4 wk intervals - a combination of
515/550 and 570/590 filters should be used. The pulses should be triple in
frequency especially when treating deeper erythema.
Sometimes the vessels in the creases of the nose next to the ala have a high
recurrence rate and considerable energy with purpura is necessary to clear
these vessels. Frequency of treatment is very important.
Hope this helps,
Keep in touch
Patrick

Concerning the sun -- stay away. This is extremely important for 4-6 weeks
post surgery. This means long direct exposure. Even short indirect exposure may
be damaging during the recovery period -- use suncreen and/or hats!!!!!!!
There should be no problem with driving after -- just a little discomfort.
I do not have experience with the doctor you listed -- but this does not mean
that he is not good/excellent. Find out how much experience he's had with
facial treatments.
The skin is not damaged after photoderm (as compared to the laser). I had my
photoderms done thursday nights and took off Friday. I was better by Saturday
and nobody could tell that I was treated by Monday. My skin was a little bit
more sensitive for 2-3 weeks, but this is normal.
Hope this helps,
Geoffrey
