[rosacea] Nose Bumps angiofibromas CO2 laser
Hi Linda,
Actually, I went the electo-cautery route. I had 4 small angiofibromas on my
nose(fibrous papules). My derm electrocauterized them 4 times over a period of
about 14 months. It reduced one of the angiofibromas by about half, but it had
absolutely no effect on the other three -- they grew back within months to the
same size -- with a greater degree of angiogenesis (deeper red). I finally went
to a plastic surgeon and he recommended the CO2 laser (one treatment usually
penetrates to the first cell line responsible for the pathogenesis of the
angiofibroma) -- and I'm sure he also recommends this because it is very
lucrative. But, 4 zaps, 5 minutes and I have not seen hide nor hair of any bump
for over 2 years (or even the beginning of the bump formation).
It is wise to do try the simplest, least expensive procedure first -- but I
think that everyone should be aware that other procedures are out there. Not
once did my derm(s) tell me that there were other treatments available.
