Re: [rosacea] my photoderm experience

Hi Julie,

I've had photoderm treatments, and while photoderm will never be a cure for
my condition, I am happy with my experience. I have severe vascular rosacea
with disabling, very painful full-face and ear flushing and swelling (day
and night), and have been diagnosed with a highly overactive sympathetic
nervous system. I also had constant redness and many telangiectasia. Over
the last 2 years I've had at least 20 photoderm treatments with an
experienced doctor (also Bitter Sr protocol trained). I've had very good
clearance of the visible vessels and much of the constant redness, but for
me the treatments have been ongoing to help bring relief from the extreme
flushing and burning. My most recent treatments involved passes with
combinations of 570/590/645 filters. I've actually had much better results
on one half of my face than the other, where I have an abnormally thickened
skin structure, most likely due to the years of inflammation, and am looking
into other ways to treat this. I also take meds (clonidine, neurontin) for
my flushing, but have found photoderm to be the most effective treatment to
date.

There is a (long!) previous post detailing my first approx 14 treatments at:
